Welcome to Let’s Journey Together- a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit Linda Goldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

How is your grip on good working for you?

Some mornings, the word of YHWH stops me in my tracks. This morning is one of those.

My coffee tastes extra rich this morning. Maybe because I’m sipping it out of a favorite coffee mug or because I’m snuggled in the “Mom” blanket my Katie girl gave me. Or perhaps it’s the warmth of my cozy candle-lit sunroom enhanced by the slumbering sounds of my rescue pups. Regardless. Good coffee.

As I sip, froth hits my upper lip, and I smile in anticipation of my day, which is odd considering all there is to accomplish. But so apropos to the Scripture I’m reading.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-21 ESV

I woke laden with thoughts about my workday. And in His usual fashion, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to His direction, not necessarily my own.

We’re told to Rejoice. Pray. Give thanks. And Trust YHWH.

With a quiet house, I tend to rejoice internally.

Thus, the smile.

I’m ever thankful to Father for one more day to experience His word of truth. No matter the work at hand, I rest securely in His hand and trust His will, way, and timing.

Then, we have the “do not” considerations.

Do not quench the Spirit.

When I allow my agenda to become the overarching focus of my day, I can extinguish the leading of the Holy Spirit. Truly, my day becomes so much more than I imagine when I follow His lead.

Do not despise prophecies.

If I’m seeking the will of YHWH, His word is my map. Spending time in both Testaments gives me a deeper understanding of what was, what is, and what is to come. I’m not to neglect the prophetic aspects of Scripture. Literally, biblical knowledge is power.

Biblical knowledge equips us to test everything and hold fast to what is good. I must know Truth, Yeshua, to increase my grip on good and recognize any counterfeit offering.

There’s no substitute for my personal time in God’s word. He is good all the time. As for me, I choose to grip His goodness, day in and day out. How about you?

Get a grip, my friend. Today is gonna be a great day, no matter what comes.

Let’s journey together.

Praise You, Lord. Thank You for this moment. Thank You for this space between doing and done. Thank You for this pause when I consider the happenings of my day and Your provision for each one. Keep my heart open to Your will. Help my mind to focus on You first. Draw me close, keep me on track with Your purpose. May I be quick to test everything and hold fast to what is good. All-day. Every day. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
