Welcome to Staying Real About Faith & Family. If you’re looking for a community where you can get real about life without resistance, you’re in the right place. I’m Linda Goldfarb. Each week, Heather Greer and I, and our guests offer personal insight to encourage transparent living from a biblical viewpoint with practical applications. Staying Real with the Holy Spirit’s leading is what we’re all about–we pray today’s episode blesses you.

Today’s guest is Breanna Churchill.

Breanna Churchill is the wife of Fabian Churchill, mother of two adventurous boys, award-winning children’s book author, founder of The Brown Bear Book Club, Sunday school teacher, and children’s ministry director. We’re happy to have Breanna join our conversation as we discuss –

How to Teach Young Children About God

Prayer ( 1 Thessalonians 5:17) – Make prayer a lifestyle: Go beyond only before mealtimes and bedtimes.

Eat the Word Daily (Matthew 4:4)  -Read children’s Bibles (My Hands-on Bible, Pray & Play Bible, The Beginner Bible, etc.) – Bible Reading Tips: Read with expression, use props or puppets, songs, etc. – Live out the Word- Children watch how we as adults respond and interact with the world around them John 13:34-35

Praise and Worship Music ( Psalm 150)-  Start the day with praise and worship music softly playing even as they get ready. Have family praise and worship time in which each family chooses a song to sing, play, or listen; (our cells respond to the word of God and the names of God)

Today’s thought Consideration – Live out the word every day through play.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to use open-ended materials when teaching about God and His Word. Use paint, clay, and items from nature, and take field trips.

Nothing compares to experiencing God through nature.

Have fun, even when life is not fun, by sharing the truth with hands-on engagement to help your children discover God’s bigness.
